In Sept. 2022, Georgian welcomed 130 talented students as part of the inaugural class of Central Ontario’s first Bachelor of Science – Nursing degree program at the Barrie Campus. The next generation of nurses gain exposure to an unrivaled learning and research environment here at Georgian, including cutting-edge technology, top of their field faculty and a holistic, community-focused curriculum. Georgian is honoured to host the Kempenfelt Rotary Club for a breakfast event on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, 7:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. in the Sadlon Centre for Health, Wellness and Sciences. Join President and CEO Kevin Weaver, Dean, Health, Wellness and Sciences Sheila West, and Simulation Centre Manager, Dr. Treva Job for a morning of discovery, innovation and reconnection. Following special remarks, Club members will be treated to Georgian’s version of The Rounds. Observe best-in-class simulation manikins in a clinical setting, understand how Georgian is leading solutions to help mitigate the health-care crisis and learn more about the college’s commitment to community access and well-being. We look forward to welcoming the Club back to campus and sharing stories of your continued impact on the student experience. |

May 13, 2023 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Please join in and help out for Kempenfelt Rotary's 3rd Tree Planting Event. When: May 13th - 9:30 AM Why...Years ago our club formed a Environmental Committee and we came up with a goal of putting boots on the ground and helping change the landscape in Barrie by working with the city and the local Conservation Authority. This is something that is measurable and will carry some legacy for our club. We have organised a Tree Planting event at Lampman Lane Park in follow up to our recent garbage cleanup. We will be planting trees and shrubs, mulching the fruit orchard and pulling some invasive species. It is very easy to participate - you simply need to show up, wear appropriate clothing and bring a shovel if you have one. We have been trying to organise a Spring event for the last couple years so we can all get outside together at a time when we all want to be outside. Please join us! |
